A shift in perspective…

In Perspectives on November 26, 2008 at 7:05 pm

I felt an underlying anxiety as I was mentally preparing for a jammed packed schedule of massages today.  I realized there was nothing of importance to be anxious about…and what mostly concerned me was  the physical excertion of providing massage therapy with having clients back to back.  I was quickly calmed when I decided to look at each massage session as a service to “one body & soul at a time”.  The focus of the moment “one body and soul at a time” in a massage session allowed me the opportunity to tune into my deeper purpose of practicing massage therapy, which is to be of service.  The gift of relaxation and rest that occurs in a massage session is a result of allowing my mind to get out of the way of the therapy that will directly affect the client in the most powerful way.
